When “Before & After” Goes Wrong

Sometimes a simple design slip can completely undermine a company’s message. Take this brick repair ad, for example. Instead of showing their repair skills, the “before” and “after” images are swapped. The result? A perfectly fine chimney is labeled as the “before,” while a crumbling mess is proudly displayed as the “after.” It unintentionally communicates that hiring them might ruin your chimney rather than fix it. It’s a funny mistake but a costly one for the company—proof that attention to detail in design and layout matters just as much as the service being promoted.
