Design Fail Alert: Why Script Fonts Can Be Tricky

Fonts are powerful tools in design—but they can also be your biggest pitfall if not used carefully. A prime example? This tote bag that was supposed to say "My favorite color is glitter." Instead, thanks to a poorly chosen script font, the word "glitter" reads… quite differently at a glance (and not in a good way).
This serves as a funny but important reminder: always test how your text looks in various fonts—especially scripts. Letters can blend together and unintentionally form words that are, well, wildly off-message.
Tips to avoid this:
Try different fonts and spacing.
Get a second (or third) set of eyes to review.
View your design at various sizes.
Design is all about communication. Make sure your message is being read the way you intended!
