Here's a brilliant example of design speaking louder than words. This business card for Yukon-based divorce lawyer James A.W. Mahon, L.L.B. doesn't just deliver contact information—it delivers a concept. Designed by the agency John St., the card is perforated right down the center, symbolizing the split of a relationship. Each half contains a full set of contact details, cleverly alluding to how both parties in a divorce might walk away with a piece of the lawyer.
Sure, it might not be the most practical card—chances are, one party won’t be keeping the same lawyer. But practicality takes a backseat here to memorable branding. This witty, unexpected design shows creativity, intelligence, and a sense of humour—qualities you just might want in a lawyer during a tough time.
And let’s be honest: if a business card can get people talking, it’s done its job.
