Do You See Change?

This logo for the Florida Aquarium’s Sea Change program is a great reminder that good design isn’t always about perfection, it’s about perspective.
I debated whether to share this one. At first glance, it almost reads like a handful of simple, clip-art-style sea creatures arranged beside a wordmark. It’s not overly polished, and yes, there are a few areas that could be refined to strengthen the execution. But then something interesting happens: once you really look, the design clicks.
Those individual sea elements cleverly come together to form the profile of a puffin’s head. And the moment you “get it,” the logo transforms from ordinary to memorable. That reveal (the pause, the realization, the quiet oh, that’s smart) is what makes this design worth talking about.
This is a great example of concept-led design doing the heavy lifting. It rewards curiosity, invites a second look, and reinforces the idea of change through perception. Sometimes strong design isn’t loud or flawless, it’s thoughtful, layered, and a little unexpected.
There’s surprisingly little information available about the designer behind this mark, but whoever you are: consider this a shout-out into the design universe. Clever ideas deserve recognition.
