Signage Design for United Way BC by KAPOW Creative
Sign Design | Healthy Aging Program Stories from BC
Client: United Way BC
This signage series for United Way BC highlights the impact of community programs that support aging adults across the province. Designed by KAPOW Creative, each board communicates a clear and compassionate story through a thoughtful combination of imagery, typography, and structured content. The goal was to create pieces that are both informative and approachable, helping viewers quickly understand the services offered while also connecting emotionally with the people behind them.
Each sign is built on a consistent layout system that balances clarity with visual interest. A bold header introduces the organization and program, followed by a concise overview that outlines key services and benefits. Supporting details such as program leadership and contributors add credibility and transparency, while carefully selected photography brings authenticity and human connection to the forefront. The imagery plays an essential role, showcasing real moments that reflect dignity, care, and community support.
The design uses a strong yet accessible visual language that aligns with United Way BC’s brand. Colour blocking helps organize information and guide the viewer’s eye, while maintaining strong contrast for readability in a variety of display environments. Typography is clean and legible, ensuring that the content remains easy to digest even at a distance.
KAPOW Creative produces a series of these boards each year, resulting in a cohesive collection that can be used across events, presentations, and community spaces. Together, they form a powerful storytelling tool that brings visibility to important initiatives and the people they serve. The result is a body of work that not only informs but also reinforces trust, empathy, and the value of community-driven support systems.
