Infographic Design on Food Security
Infographic Design | Food Security in British Columbia
Client: BC Centre for Disease Control
The BC Centre for Disease Control partnered with KAPOW Creative to develop a two-page infographic series that communicates key insights on food security in British Columbia. The objective of this project was to translate complex data and research findings into a format that is clear, accessible, and visually engaging for a broad public audience.
Designed for both print and digital distribution, the infographic balances readability with strong visual storytelling. A structured layout guides the viewer through the information in a logical sequence, using bold headings, colour-coded sections, and clear typographic hierarchy to support comprehension. Icons and illustrations are used throughout to reinforce key messages and make the data more approachable, while helping to break down dense information into digestible segments.
The design emphasizes the human impact of food insecurity by pairing statistics with relatable visual elements. Strategic use of colour draws attention to critical data points and creates contrast between themes such as affordability, health outcomes, and community solutions. Consistent branding ensures alignment with the BC Centre for Disease Control’s visual identity while maintaining a fresh and engaging presentation style.
This project demonstrates the power of infographic design as a tool for public education. By simplifying complex information and presenting it in a compelling format, the final piece supports awareness, encourages engagement, and helps communicate the broader social implications of food insecurity across the province.
