Brochure Design | Improving Legal System Responses to Family Violence
Client: RISE • Women's Legal Centre

This brochure was developed for the Women’s Legal Centre to communicate vital information around family violence and access to legal support. The subject matter required a thoughtful and sensitive approach, balancing clarity with empathy while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism.

The design is structured to guide the reader through complex information in a clear and accessible way. A carefully considered hierarchy, paired with consistent typography and generous spacing, allows each section to be easily navigated without feeling overwhelming. Key content is broken into digestible segments, supported by visual cues that help orient the reader across the spread.

Imagery plays an important role in shaping the tone of the piece. Rather than relying on graphic or distressing visuals, the design uses layered and symbolic imagery that feels human, respectful, and approachable. This approach helps remove stigma while reinforcing a sense of dignity, trust, and hope for those seeking support.

The colour palette of soft blues and neutral greys was intentionally selected to create a calm and reassuring atmosphere. These tones support the overall message of safety and reliability, while aligning with the professionalism expected of a legal resource. Subtle gradients and overlays add depth without distracting from the content.

Overall, the brochure serves as both an informative and supportive tool. It demonstrates how careful design can elevate sensitive subject matter, ensuring that critical resources are presented in a way that feels accessible, respectful, and empowering for the audience.
